Reports: Trump wants Goldman's Cohn as head of National Economic Council

President-elect Donald Trump has Goldman Sachs Group Inc. President and COO Gary Cohn at the top of his list to lead the National Economic Council, according to multiple media outlets.

Trump is mulling Cohn for the council directorship and for a role as assistant to the president on economic policy, NBC News reported.

Cohn has long been considered a successor to Goldman CEO Lloyd Blankfein, but has been rumored recently to be considering his future with the investment bank. He met with Trump on Nov. 29 amid reports that he was under consideration to head the Office of Management and Budget.
