Facebook's Marketplace expands into 17 European markets

Facebook Inc. rolled out its trading platform Marketplace in 17 European countries Aug. 14.

The expansion means users in Austria, Belgium, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland will be able to buy and sell goods locally via the e-commerce service.

In October 2016, the social networking giant launched the Marketplace feature in the U.S., the U.K., Australia and New Zealand. It has since expanded to Canada, Chile and Mexico.
