ContourGlobal in talks to buy 50-MW solar plant in Spain from Iberdrola

ContourGlobal PLC is in talks with Iberdrola SA for the potential acquisition of a 50-MW solar facility in Spain, the company confirmed in an email to S&P Global Market Intelligence.

The U.K.-based independent power producer said it will make further announcements if needed.

In February, ContourGlobal agreed to acquire five solar thermal facilities in Spain from Acciona SA for approximately €1.09 billion. The power plants include Palma del Río I and Palma del Río II in Córdoba, Majadas in Cáceres, and Alvarado and Orellana in Badajoz.

ContourGlobal operates a generating portfolio of 4,100 MW in 19 countries in Europe, Latin America and Africa.
