Georgia Power Co. issued a request for proposal for more than 100 MW of new solar distributed generation projects, as part of the company's renewable energy development initiative.
The Southern Co. subsidiary is seeking projects ranging from 1 kW up to 3 MW, according to a July 26 news release. Interested bidders may submit their proposals until noon ET on Aug. 15 on this website.
Georgia Power also is encouraging its customers to consider other solar programs. The company's community solar program would enable residential subscribers to earn a bill credit based on actual energy production, while the company's renewable energy credit purchase program would allow participants to claim solar benefits for either half or their entire energy usage.
