Thailand-based Dhipaya Insurance PCL expects to start doing business inCambodia in 2017, subject to obtaining a license, The Nation reported Oct. 10.
The company's plan to enter Cambodia follows its foray intothe insurance market in Laos in 2015. Somporn Suebthawilkul, managing directorof the general insurer, said the company also plans to do business in Myanmaronce it has fully set up its shop in Cambodia.
Dhipaya Insurance will partner with two Thai firms,Panichewa Group of Cos. and Southeast Insurance Group of Cos., in addition toseeking local partners in Cambodia, Somporn said. The insurer is already indiscussions with Cambodian firms to set up a new company, the executive noted.
