Pool Q3 profit climbs 14.0% YOY

Pool Corp. said its normalized net income for the third quarter came to $1.04 per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of $1.01 per share.

EPS climbed 16.1% year over year from 90 cents.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $45.0 million, an increase of 14.0% from $39.5 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 6.5% from 6.1% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose 7.1% on an annual basis to $691.4 million from $645.8 million, and total operating expenses increased 6.3% year over year to $616.7 million from $580.3 million.

Reported net income increased 12.3% from the prior-year period to $44.4 million, or $1.03 per share, from $39.5 million, or 90 cents per share.
