Netflix Inc.'s international subscribers are expected to surpass domestic users by 2018, Digital TV Europe reported Dec. 12, citing a Digital TV research.
The research predicts that the streaming giant will have roughly 118 million global paying subscribers by 2021, which is 27.5% of the world's subscription video-on-demand market. By 2021, 44% of Netflix's subscriber count will come from the U.S.
The research expects Netflix's overall revenues to increase to $13.14 billion in 2021 from $6.37 billion in 2015, with North America accounting for 52% of its subscription revenues.
The figures are part of a wider study by Digital TV Research predicting that the number of households availing SVOD services across 200 countries is expected to increase by 72.6% between 2016 and 2021.
