CBTX unit detects possible unauthorized access to consumer data

Beaumont, Texas-based CBTX Inc. unit CommunityBank of Texas NA informed 7,800 individuals about possible unauthorized access of certain of their personal information in possession of the bank, based on an independent forensic investigation report.

CBTX believes that the access was limited to information that was contained in the email accounts of two employees, and that it is not aware of any fraud or misuse of that information.

Law enforcement agencies were notified and CBTX is cooperating in their investigation.

CBTX currently expects that its out-of-pocket expenditures related to this incident will be less than $105,000, as disclosed in a regulatory filing.
