She has been serving the institutional clients in the Asia-Pacific region with research and insights concerning the mining, energy, and supply chain markets, as well as providing solutions to develop and implement growth opportunities within and between organizations.
Prior to being a product specialist, she joined the client operations team of S&P Global in 2016 where she worked directly with different personas including miners, investment bankers, analysts, and executives from various mining-related institutions. Alex completed her bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of the Philippines – Diliman

Alice Yu is the Associate Director of Future Energy Metals Research at S&P Global Energy.
Alice Yu is an Associate Director specializing in critical minerals at S&P Global Energy. She began researching battery metals in 2015; and in 2020, she launched S&P Global's forecast coverage for lithium and cobalt. She is based in Bangkok and has previously worked in Beijing, Hong Kong, and London.
Prior to joining, Alice was a strategy consultant in metals at CRU where she led projects across market due diligence, market entry strategy, competitor mapping, and acquisition target selection. Alice holds an MSc in Economic History and a BSc in Economics, both from the London School of Economics.

Abby Villaruel is a Commodities Product Specialist at S&P Global Market Intelligence. She has been liaising with key client personas like analysts, investment bankers, and executives in the ASEAN, Pacific, and Middle East regions regarding mining and energy research, data, and product solutions.
Prior to joining S&P Global, Abby was a technical supervisor and project manager in various drilling operations. In 2019, she became part of the S&P Global content team as a researcher for mining data. She then moved to the client operations team where she worked directly with client on mining-related queries and did webinars on industry content. Based in Manila, she is a licensed geologist and holds a bachelor’s degree in Geology from the University of the Philippines- Diliman.
