Head of CERA
Philippe A. Frangules is Head of CERA at S&P Global Energy. CERA brings together an incredible wealth of expertise over Upstream, Oil, Fuel and Chemicals, Gas and LNG, Power and Renewables, Agriculture and Metals, Shipping, and Consulting into a single, cohesive business unit within S&P Global Energy.
Previously, Philippe served as Head of Gas, Power and Climate Solutions at S&P Global Energy. In that role, he led the direction of product content, analytics, research, and insights. Prior to that, Philippe was in leadership since 2002 at IHS Markit before its 2022 merger with S&P Global, and in that capacity, he ran the businesses of Gas, Power and Energy Futures as well as Upstream Oil & Gas Consulting.
His career has spanned a number of disciplines, including being co-founder of Excelergy Corp., a software & internet service company focused on the intersection of the internet and deregulating energy; serving as Vice President of Strategic Planning at Boston Edison Company; working in strategy consulting with Alliance Consulting & Quantum Associates; and also having experience in investment and commercial banking.
Mr. Frangules holds a bachelor’s degree from Bowdoin College and a master’s degree from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Senior Vice President and Chief Energy Strategist
His areas of expertise include business strategy, commercial analysis, oil markets, energy technologies, climate change and renewables. He has previously led Energy Insight, Research and Analysis and Energy Research teams at S&P Global (Now a part of S&P Global). Dr. Atul previously worked for BP for over 20 years in a number of operational, business, technical and strategic positions around the world. His career includes international leadership experience in a diverse array of energy fields spanning strategy development, business planning, field operations and technology commercialization. His experience includes leadership in solar energy development as well as oil and gas. Dr. Atul has previously served on boards of several companies and institutions and is member of the World Economic Forum's Global Future Council on Advanced Energy Technologies and is 25+ year member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers. He is a sought-after speaker and moderator at public conferences, company boards and industry events and a member of the CERAWeek leadership team.
He holds B.S., M.S. and Ph. D. degrees in engineering.

Vice President, Global Head of Shipping Analytics and Research
Rahul leads an integrated commodity analytics product management, data science and research team. As a business head, he is responsible for driving new product growth for our analytics products Commodities at Sea and Freight Analytics. A subject matter expert in the maritime industry and financial markets, Rahul is a thought leader with proven credentials in market analysis forecasting, shipping economics and commodity market developments. He is a regular speaker at major conferences and client events globally, and is frequently interviewed by both print and visual media. Most recently, he was at Bloomberg Intelligence and earlier headed Drewry Financial Research Services Ltd. He has also worked as senior equities analyst at RS Platou Markets and Nomura.
Rahul holds a Bachelor of Science in Marine Engineering from BITS, Pilani and a Postgraduate in Management from IMI, New Delhi, India.

Head of Upstream
Daniel Pratt is Senior Vice President leading the Global Upstream Solutions business within S&P Global Energy. Dan has over 25 years of experience in the Upstream sector with leadership positions across multiple capabilities. Today, Dan leads a global team focused on delivering research, data, and software to support decision making within Oil & Gas markets, including operators, service companies, investors, and capital providers. Dan spearheads new product development and innovation, integrating advanced technology and data science into workflows and product offerings. His efforts generate critical insights and thought leadership, strengthening client relationships and supporting S&P Global’s sales and consulting initiatives.
Daniel’s previous experience includes equity analysis at John S. Herold and serving as Director of Oil & Gas Research at Ticonderoga Securities, where he covered oil and gas equities and published research for institutional investors. He also led the Upstream Companies & Transactions capability within IHS Markit. Daniel is a Chartered Financial Analyst, a member of the CFA Institute, and a member of the Stamford CFA Society. He holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Rochester.

Global Head of Power and Renewables Research
Based in Singapore, Jenny brings a unique combination of cross-sector quantitative analysis and thought leadership with over 20 years of experience across gas and power markets in multiple continents. She regularly presents and moderates executive dialogs at prominent industry conferences, including CERAWeek, APPEC, Singapore International Energy Week, and International Energy Executive Forum.
Jenny joined S&P Global in Beijing in 2011 as a power analyst and has since advanced through various leadership roles, including Head of China Gas and Power, Head of China Natural and Low-Carbon Gas, and Head of Asia LNG.
Before her tenure at S&P Global, Jenny served as Vice President of Pricing, Products, and Markets at Constellation NewEnergy, the largest power retailer in the US, based in Houston, Texas. She began her career as a Quantitative Analyst at Williams, where she developed forward-looking price and volatility curves for evaluating power-related assets.
Jenny was one of the first nine students sponsored by the Vietnamese government to attend college in the United States. Fluent in English, Chinese, and Vietnamese, she holds a Bachelor of Business and Administration and a Master of Business and Administration from the University of Oklahoma, United States.

Vice President, Global Gas and LNG
Shankari has specific expertise in global gas market fundamentals analysis, price forecasting, company strategy and scenario planning. She has authored numerous reports. Prior to joining S&P Global Energy, Shankari was Head of Energy Fundamentals at Centrica in the United Kingdom. She has covered the European gas market for many years and authored a number of reports as researcher and then leader of the European gas practice at CERA, which is now part of S&P Global Energy. She has also assessed the European and Russian gas markets with the International Energy Agency.
Shankari previously worked at a New York brokerage firm as a corporate equity analyst. She holds three degrees from US Universities, a Bachelor of Arts from Brown University, a Master of Science from New York University, and a Master of Science from University of Pennsylvania. She also holds an Executive MBA from Cranfield University, United Kingdom.

Vice President, Oil, Fuels and Chemicals Research
Kurt is head of research for crude oil markets, NGLs, refining, and petrochemical feedstocks and has responsibility for joint mobility research with automotive. Kurt's expertise includes energy transition in fuels markets, refining economics, downstream fuels policy and price forecasting. He is active in downstream research and oversees a global team of experts providing forecast views on market fundamentals and transition scenarios. He writes on a range of topics and routinely supports executive and corporate boards with views on downstream strategy, the future of refining, net zero policies, refining/petrochemical integration, biofuels/biorefining and hydrogen in transport. Kurt began his career as a refining engineer at Exxon and was a partner at Purvin & Gertz.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering from Kansas State University and an MBA from the University of Houston.
