L Brands Inc. said its normalized net income for the fiscal third quarter ended Nov. 1 was 43 cents per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 40 cents per share.
EPS climbed 43.9% year over year from 30 cents.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was $128.1 million, an increase of 44.4% from $88.8 million in the year-earlier period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 5.5% from 4.1% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue climbed 6.8% on an annual basis to $2.32 billion from $2.17 billion, and total operating expenses grew from the prior-year period to $2.04 billion from $1.96 billion.
Reported net income grew 42.4% year over year to $131.1 million, or 44 cents per share, from $92.1 million, or 31 cents per share.
