Arthur J. Gallagher& Co. said March 30 that it acquired Joseph Distel & Co.

Based in Farmington, Conn., Joseph Distel is a managing generalagent and wholesale insurance broker that provides excess and surplus, P&C,professional business liability and other specialty products to independent insuranceagents and brokers throughout the Northeast. The company specializes in coveragefor the transportation industry.

Ken Distel and his associates will continue to operate from theirlocation in Farmington.
