Avangrid Renewables to acquire SunPower solar project in Nevada

AvangridRenewables LLC plans to acquire 100% of the membership interests inthe 50-MW Boulder SolarII project from SunPowerCorp., according to a Sept. 26 application filed with FERC.

Boulder Solar II is expected to start commercial operationin Clark County, Nev. in December. Upon completion, it will sell all its netoutput to Berkshire HathawayEnergy subsidiary Nevada Power Co. under a 20-year contract expiring 2037.

Parties to the transaction are asking FERC to approve thedeal by Nov. 7 to allow deal closure prior to the facility's first productionof test energy in early to mid-November. (Docket No. EC16-192)
