Macarthur Minerals Ltd.said April 26 that it has applied for an additional five exploration licenses inthe Pilbara region of Western Australia, expanding its total tenement area to 1,379square kilometers.
The new license applications cover an area of 185 square kilometers withnumerous occurrences of lithium, tantalum, tin and beryl.
The application is part of the company's strategy of applying for prospective acreage proximate to known lithiumoccurrences or where there are either producing lithium mines or lithium mines underdevelopment.
Macarthur is currently undertaking a detailed review of all its acreage andplans to commence a stage one airborne reconnaissance program over the Pilbara tenements.The review indicates that available acreage in Western Australia with the same geologicalattribute as Pilbara is becoming scarce.
To date, Macarthur holds 19 exploration licenses covering areas in the PilbaraCraton and the Ravensthorpe and Edah regions of Yilgarn Craton.
The company is also discussing with third parties possible joint venturesthat can maximize its 2016 exploration effort.
