CAF issues 150B Colombian pesos in green bonds

Banco De Desarrollo De América Latina, or CAF, said it has placed international green bonds worth 150 billion Colombian pesos.

The bonds have a term of 10 years and a coupon of 6.75%. It is CAF's first green bond issuance, the development bank said in a statement.

JP Morgan was in charge of the placement.

The offering is part of CAF's green bond emission program worth $600 million that aims to promote the financing of high-impact environmental and social projects in Latin America. The operation will support initiatives in Ecuador, Panama and Peru, the bank said.

As of May 18, US$1 was equivalent to 2,927.40 Colombian pesos.
