Lian Hwa Foods Q3 profit falls YOY

Lian Hwa Foods Corp. said its normalized net income for the third quarter came to 39 Taiwan cents per share, a decrease of 8.0% from 43 cents per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was NT$62.6 million, a decrease of 8.0% from NT$68.0 million in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 3.6% from 3.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue came to NT$1.75 billion, compared with NT$1.75 billion in the prior-year period, and total operating expenses came to NT$1.65 billion, compared with NT$1.66 billion in the prior-year period.

Reported net income fell on an annual basis to NT$116.4 million, or 72 cents per share, from NT$117.9 million, or 74 cents per share.

As of Nov. 10, US$1 was equivalent to NT$31.77.
