U.S. hotels posted positive performance for the week ended May 25, according to STR data.
Year over year, revenue per available room rose 3.1% to $95.22, and average daily rate increased 2.1% to finish the week at $133.81. Occupancy rose 0.9%, to 71.2%.
Philadelphia, Pa.-N.J., recorded the largest RevPAR uptick of the top 25 U.S. markets at 15.8% to $130.23 and saw the largest rise in ADR, adding 11.1% to $162.36.
New Orleans posted the largest boost in occupancy, with the metric rising 13.4%, to 79.1%.
Seattle saw RevPAR decrease 19.3% to $129.91, the largest decline. The market also recorded the biggest ADR decrease, falling 12.6% to $164.19, and reported the sharpest drop in occupancy, decreasing 7.7%, to 79.1%.
