Technical problems reduce Norwegian oil and gas output in August

The production of oil, NGLs and condensate in Norway averaged 1.6 million barrels per day in August, down from 1.7 million bbl/d in July, according to preliminary figures released by the Norwegian Petroleum Directorate on Sept. 24.

The directorate said the production declines were due to technical problems and maintenance work on some undisclosed fields.

Total gas sales for August came in at 8.2 billion standard cubic meters, down from 9.6 billion standard cubic meters in July.

Oil production for August was reported at about 1.35 million bbl/d, down from 1.36 million bbl/d in July and 3.9% lower than the directorate's forecast for August.

An average of 267,000 bbl/d of NGLs and 27,000 bbl/d of condensate was produced in August.
