As part of its technology innovation strategy, Banco de Crédito del Perú has joined the international R3 blockchain consortium, El Comercio reported, citing business banking manager Luis Alfonso Carrera.

The company, which joined the consortium at the end of 2016, is the first Latin American bank outside of Brazil to be part of this group, which has more than 70 members, according to the Jan. 30 report.
