Mega Financial FY'15 net profit drops 3% YOY

Mega FinancialHoldings Co. Ltd. said March 31 that its net profit for 2015dropped 3% year over year to NT$29.42 billion from NT$30.28 billion.

EPS for the 12-month period also dropped to NT$2.35 fromNT$2.43.

The group's net interest income inched up to NT$37.69billion from NT$36.67 billion in the prior-year period. Operating net revenuetotaled NT$60.23 billion for 2015, slightly down from NT$60.51 billion in theyear-ago period.

MegaInternational Commercial Bank Co. Ltd., the group's banking unit,posted net profit of NT$25.72 billion, down 1% from NT$25.97 billion in 2014.EPS dropped to NT$3.27 from NT$3.37.

Net interest income increased to NT$36.05 billion from NT$35.30billion, while operating net revenue dipped to NT$50.23 billion from NT$51.17billion.

The bank posted nonperforming loan ratio of 0.08% at the endof the 2015 fourth quarter, up from 0.06% in the prior-year period, butslightly down from 0.09% in the third quarter of 2015.

At the end of 2015, the bank's capital adequacy ratio was13.16%, an increase from 11.76% in 2014. The group's common equity Tier 1capital ratio stood at 11.23%, up from 9.75% in 2014.
