Buenaventura eyes FY'19 EBITDA of US$310M to US$380M

Peru's Cia. de Minas Buenaventura SAA reported 2018 gold production of about 1.03 million ounces, near the midpoint of full-year guidance, and gold sales of 496,367 ounces.

The company said Jan. 14 that it expects 2019 full-year output of 875,000 to 945,000 ounces of gold. EBITDA in 2019 is expected at between US$310 million and US$380 million, in line with 2018, while capital expenditures are expected at US$80 million to US$120 million.

Total silver production for the year was 26.2 Moz, near the lower end of the guided range, while sales were 23.9 Moz.

Buenaventura said full-year silver production for 2019 is estimated at between 23.7 Moz and 26.5 Moz.

Lead, zinc and copper production for the year was 46,740 tonnes, 80,269 tonnes and 46,231 tonnes, respectively, with all three falling within the yearly guidance.

Fourth-quarter 2018 gold output totaled 259,783 ounces, and silver output was 5.8 Moz.

The company forecast 2019 lead production between 48,900 and 58,000 tonnes, zinc production of 90,000 to 105,000 tonnes and copper output of 47,000 to 52,000 tonnes.
