UBS GroupAG appointed Ben Crystal to the newly created role of head offintech for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, IFR reported April 6, citing an internal memo.

Crystal, who has previously covered fintech sub-sectors suchas technology-enabled lenders, will help coordinate the bank's coverage acrossEMEA business services, financial firms and technology, media and telecoms.

In his new role, Crystal will work with Steve Pierson, thebank's global head of fintech and services and head of FIG in the U.S., VikHebatpuria, head of fintech and services in the U.S., and Alex Dunev fromspecialty finance and marketplace lending, IFRnoted.
