HSBC Singapore names new chairman

HSBC Bank (Singapore) Ltd. appointed Mukhtar Hussain chairman and director, effective Oct. 17, The Business Times reported the same day, citing a press release.

Hussain has been the head of the Belt and Road Initiative for HSBC Asia Pacific since April. Before that, Hussain was CEO for HSBC's businesses in Malaysia.

Hussain succeeds Guy Harvey-Samuel, who will be stepping down from the post.
