Power
* Northland Power Inc. CEO John Brace is retiring on Aug. 4, but he will continue to serve as a director of the company. He will be succeeded by Mike Crawley, who currently serves as executive vice president, development.
* TerraForm Power Inc. shareholders elected Carolyn Burke as a new member to the board of directors at the annual shareholders meeting held May 23.
* Duke Energy Corp. on May 22 announced several executive changes to its finance organization, including the appointment of Bill Currens as head of the financial planning and analysis organization. Dwight Jacobs will succeed Currens as senior vice president, controller and chief accounting officer. Karl Newlin will become senior vice president of corporate development, succeeding Catherine Stempien, who was named president of Duke Energy Florida LLC on April 25. The changes are effective June 1.
* French electric utility Engie SA appointed independent administrator Jean-Pierre Clamadieu as new chairman of its board of directors. Clamadieu succeeds Gérard Mestrallet, whose term has expired. The company's board appointed Mestrallet as chairman of honour of the group. Ross McInnes was appointed as an independent administrator and became a member of the audit committee following the resignation of Stéphane Pallez. Meanwhile, Christophe Agogué succeeded Olivier Marquer, whose term as employee administrator for the "engineers, managers and equivalent college" expired. Agogué also was appointed as member of the ethics, environment and sustainable development committee.
* Chugach Electric Association Inc. announced that the company's director Bettina Chastain was named as chair by the sitting board. Company directors Susan Reeves, Rachel Morse and Stuart Parks were also elected as vice chair, treasurer and secretary, respectively. Reeves, Morse and Parks were also elected to the chair of the governance committee, audit and finance committee and operations committee, respectively.
* IDACORP Inc. announced that Lonnie Krawl will retire as the company's senior vice president of administrative services and chief human resources officer, effective Aug. 31.
* Ocean Power Technologies Inc. named Matthew May as the company's new vice president, global business development. May previously served as director of sales and marketing for Tampnet Inc.
* Vistra Energy Corp. has hired Arnold Quinn, an outgoing top-ranking agency director and senior economist at the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, to help lead the company's regulatory affairs group in Washington, D.C.
Gas utility/midstream
* Activist investor Carl Icahn enlisted former SandRidge Energy Inc. president and COO Matthew Grubb to serve as the consultant for a planned proxy contest to replace SandRidge's entire board of directors and evaluate strategic alternatives for the company.
* Anadarko Petroleum Corp. named Mitch Ingram executive vice president for international, deepwater and exploration operations. Ingram takes on the new title as Ernie Leyendecker retires as executive vice president of exploration.
* Mizuho Financial Group Inc. subsidiary Mizuho Americas LLC added oil and gas analyst Paul Sankey to its energy research team. Sankey previously served as a managing director at Wolfe Research LLC, covering upstream oil and gas companies.
* The board of Concho Resources Inc. appointed the current CEO of its fellow Permian Basin producer RSP Permian, Steven Gray, to Concho's board, part of the two companies' merger deal, increasing its board size to 11. Gray would serve as a Class III director until Concho's next annual stockholders meeting, in which Class III directors are elected. Both the board size increase and Gray's appointment to the board are effective on, and subject to, the effective time of the merger.
