Sheffield granted environmental approval for Thunderbird mineral sands project

Sheffield Resources Ltd. was granted the state environmental approval for its Thunderbird mineral sands project in northern Western Australia.

The company said Aug. 13 it is now working to secure environmental approval from the federal government. The process is expected to conclude in the current quarter.

In June, Sheffield secured a maiden binding off-take agreement for annual supply of at least 150,000 tonnes of low-temperature-roast ilmenite for an initial five-year period from Thunderbird.
