Comstock MetalsLtd. said July 12 that it has started the 2016 exploration program atits QV gold projectin Canada's Yukon Territory, to be carried out in phases and will include surfaceexploration, geophysics and drilling.
The company has already engaged a contractor for the initialtwo phases of the program and the first phase has just started, with work to includehigh resolution DC IP-resistivity surveys, bedrock interface sampling, soil geochemicalsurveys, and bedrock geological mapping and prospecting.
The first phase will primarily focus on three priority targetareas, the VG, Stewart and Shadow zones, all of which have large areal extents andprospective geological, structural, geochemical and geophysical characteristics.
Additional work will also continue to assess the remainder ofQV's property package.
The results from the program's first phase will be integratedwith previous work on QV and will be interpreted to refine targets for rotary airblast drilling and potential diamond drilling in the succeeding work stages.
Comstock expects to start the rotary air blast drilling at theproject in early August, with holes planned for each of the VG, Stewart and Shadowzones.
