NTSB to probe Minneapolis school gas explosion that killed 2, injured at least 9

The National Transportation Safety Board sent a team to investigate the Aug. 2 gas explosion at a Minneapolis school in CenterPoint Energy Inc.'s service territory, according to media reports.

The explosion was caused by a gas leak while contractors were doing construction on the gas lines, ABC News reported Aug. 3, citing the Minneapolis Fire Department. The explosion caused a partial collapse of the school building. The death toll was updated to two, with at least nine being injured, compared to the previously reported death toll of one, with five being injured.
