Ark. co-op signs power contract for 100 MW from RES America solar farm

Arkansas Electric Cooperative Corp. signed an agreement with Renewable Energy Systems Americas Inc. to purchase all of the output from its 100-MW Crossett solar energy farm.

Construction of the solar farm is expected to begin in early 2021. It is expected to come online in Ashley County, Ark., in that same year, according to a March 20 news release.

AECC provides wholesale power to 17 electric distribution cooperatives in Arkansas. RES Americas is a subsidiary of RES Group.
