Virat Industries fiscal Q2 profit climbs 38.5% YOY

4914653 said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 was 1.86 Indian rupees per share, an increase of 38.2% from 1.35 rupees per share in the prior-year period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 9.2 million rupees, a gain of 38.5% from 6.6 million rupees in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin increased to 13.4% from 12.3% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue increased 27.7% on an annual basis to 68.8 million rupees from 53.9 million rupees, and total operating expenses rose 24.3% from the prior-year period to 55.3 million rupees from 44.5 million rupees.
