Heian Ceremony Service fiscal Q1 profit climbs YOY

Heian Ceremony Service Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal first quarter ended June 30 was ¥17.32 per share, a gain from ¥16.51 per share in the year-earlier period.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥227.5 million, a gain from ¥216.9 million in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin climbed to 10.4% from 9.8% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue totaled ¥2.19 billion, compared with ¥2.20 billion in the year-earlier period, and total operating expenses fell from the prior-year period to ¥1.86 billion from ¥1.89 billion.

Reported net income increased 10.3% year over year to ¥235.0 million, or ¥17.89 per share, from ¥213.0 million, or ¥16.22 per share.

As of Aug. 14, US$1 was equivalent to ¥124.29.
