RBS' disposal of Williams & Glyn likely to take more time

Royal Bank ofScotland Group Plc's planned disposal of Williams & Glyn's network will likelytake more time and have a greater overall financial impact on RBS than previouslyestimated.

The bank said it is exploring other means to achieve thenetwork's separation as the complexities of Williams & Glyn's customer andproduct mix made the bank's plan to create a cloned banking platform verychallenging.

As a result, the timetable of the separation and divestmentof the network, which was previously scheduled to be achieved by Dec. 31, 2017,is now uncertain.
