Ex-BMS CEO leading new reinsurance managing general agency

Aurous Risk Partners, an international specialty reinsurance managing general agency, has launched with former BMS Group CEO Carl Beardmore serving as its chief executive, The Insurance Insider reported.

The MGA began operations in September and seeks to start writing business for Jan. 1, 2019. It will primarily offer property, energy, aviation and political violence and terrorism reinsurance.

Beardmore, who left BMS in 2013, reportedly said he sees the startup as a "novel independent MGA." Aurous Risk Partners will look to align risk to different forms of capacity to make transactions more cost-efficient, according to the report.
