Illinois insurance commissioner to depart; successor named

Anne Melissa Dowling, director of the Illinois Department of Insurance, is leaving the department in January 2017.

Illinois Gov. Bruce Rauner said he will appoint Jennifer Hammer to succeed Dowling as director of the department. Hammer currently serves as the deputy chief of staff for policy in the Office of the Governor.
