Australia, Singapore regulators in talks over fintech agreement

The Australian Securities and Investments Commission is intalks with the Monetary Authorityof Singapore to cooperate on fintech regulation, The Australian Financial Review reportedApril 11.

The potential agreement would be similar to the cooperationagreement ASIC signedwith the U.K. Financial Conduct Authority where the regulators promised tooffer support to startups that have been referred to them by the otherregulator.

The talks between ASIC and MAS are at an early stage but itis understood that both are eager for the deal to push through, the publicationreported.
