Vedanta Resources PLC's Zambian unit said that work at its Konkola copper-cobalt mine's underground shaft four was suspended after a miner was killed in an accident, Reuters reported July 26.

The company will conduct an investigation into the incident.

In June, Vedanta unveiled plans to double finished copper output at Konkola Copper Mines PLC to 200,000 tonnes this year.
