Sumber Alfaria Trijaya profit beats consensus by 15.7% in Q4

PT Sumber Alfaria Trijaya Tbk said its normalized net income for the fourth quarter was 5.07 rupiah per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 4.38 rupiah per share.

EPS fell 8.3% year over year from 5.53 rupiah.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 210.59 billion rupiah, compared with 210.17 billion rupiah in the year-earlier period.

The normalized profit margin declined to 1.4% from 1.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue grew 17.5% year over year to 12.889 trillion rupiah from 10.969 trillion rupiah, and total operating expenses climbed 18.9% on an annual basis to 12.424 trillion rupiah from 10.452 trillion rupiah.

Reported net income rose 6.1% from the prior-year period to 230.84 billion rupiah, or 5.56 rupiah per share, from 217.60 billion rupiah, or 5.73 rupiah per share.

For the year, the company's normalized net income totaled 9.21 rupiah per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus normalized EPS estimate of 11.17 rupiah.

EPS declined 19.0% from 11.37 rupiah in the prior year.

Normalized net income was 369.79 billion rupiah, a decrease of 14.0% from 429.79 billion rupiah in the prior year.

Full-year total revenue grew 16.3% on an annual basis to 48.265 trillion rupiah from 41.496 trillion rupiah, and total operating expenses increased 17.0% on an annual basis to 47.137 trillion rupiah from 40.276 trillion rupiah.

The company said reported net income declined 16.4% year over year to 451.09 billion rupiah, or 11.23 rupiah per share, in the full year, from 539.55 billion rupiah, or 14.27 rupiah per share.

As of March 24, US$1 was equivalent to 13,295 rupiah.
