Coeur Mining Inc. appointed Thomas Whelan CFO and senior vice president, effective Jan. 1, 2019.

According to the Dec. 13 release, Whelan will take over as CFO from Peter Mitchell, who will retire Dec. 31.

Whelan was previously Arizona Mining Inc.'s CFO and prior to that held the same role at Nevsun Resources Ltd.
