Duke Energy Indiana issues $500M worth of debt

Duke EnergyIndiana LLC issued $500 million worth of its series XXX 3.75% firstmortgage bonds due May 15, 2046, according to a May 9 free writing prospectus. Netproceeds will help the DukeEnergy Corp. subsidiary repay $475 million worth of bonds anddebentures that are due later this year, among other things.

Interest payments on the bonds, which offer a spread of 115basis points to the Treasury benchmark, are due semiannually starting Nov. 15of this year. The bonds were to be rated Aa3 by Moody's and A by S&P GlobalRatings and Fitch Ratings.

Credit Suisse Securities (USA) LLC, Goldman Sachs & Co.,Mizuho Securities USA Inc. and U.S. Bancorp Investments Inc. served as jointbook-running managers of the issue while BBVA Securities Inc., DNB MarketsInc., PNC Capital Markets LLC and The Williams Capital Group LP acted asco-managers.

CastleOak Securities LP and Great Pacific Securities werejunior co-managers of the issue.
