Ruptly launches new streaming platform for live content

Global news agency Ruptly GmbH rolled out Ruptly Live, an online video streaming platform offering access to videos of live events that can be streamed on social networking sites.

Unveiled at MIPCOM 2017, the platform provides videos of breaking news from Ruptly's news teams and viral videos, as well as 360-degree video content and drone footage that are available in 4K resolution. It can also host up to eight simultaneous streams on social media.

Ruptly Live users will need to create an account to be able to stream live videos on Facebook Inc., Periscope, Twitter Inc. and Google Inc.'s YouTube, as well as local streaming providers. Content can be purchased by subscription, through revenue sharing, or on an ad hoc basis.

Ruptly is owned by Russian international TV network RT.
