Invenergy receives FERC approval to sell controlling stake in 2 Neb. wind farms

Invenergy Renewables LLC received the approval of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission to sell 90.1% of controlling ownership interests in two wind farms in Nebraska to a subsidiary of Excelsior Renewable Energy Investment Fund I LP.

Following the proposed transaction, the Invenergy LLC subsidiary plans to reduce its ownership stakes in the 73.39-MW Prairie Breeze II and 35.8-MW Prairie Breeze III wind projects located near Petersburg, Neb.

Prairie Breeze II sells its output to Lincoln Electric System and Prairie Breeze III sells its output to the City of Grand Island, Neb. under long-term power purchase agreements.
