Blackstone could exit Sona Comstar through IPO

Blackstone Group Inc. could exit Sona Comstar through an IPO within the next two years, Livemint reported, citing Sona Comstar Chairman Sunjay Kapur.

Sona Comstar is an automotive components joint venture recently formed by the private equity giant.

Blackstone owns a 65% stake in the joint venture, while Kapur holds the remainder, according to two people.

Kapur said he does not intend to exit or dilute his stake in the business, which aims to broaden its manufacturing footprint in India, the report noted.

Blackstone did not comment on its IPO plans, according to the report.
