Nova Ljubljanska Banka's Montenegrin unit fires executive director

The board of directors of Nova Ljubljanska banka d.d. unit NLB Banka AD Podgorica dismissed Robert Kleindienst from the post of executive director and management board member and terminated his employment agreement, the lender said Feb. 23.

NLB Banka also noted that the Central Bank of Montenegro withdrew its approval for Kleindienst to serve as an executive director. Kleindienst's duties were taken over by CEO Martin Leberle until the appointment of a new executive director and management board member.

The lender did not provide reasons for Kleindienst's dismissal, but Slovenian media reported that he lost the job after saying during a business event that Montenegro is "worse than Burkina Faso."
