announced plans toestablish a data center in Mumbai by 2017 in a move to catch up with cloudrivals MicrosoftCorp. and Amazon.comInc.'s Amazon Web Services in the Indian market, Mint reported Sept. 30.
The datacenter would reportedly be the Alphabet Inc. unit's first in India. Google'sCloud Platform services would become faster for Indian customers once it opens.
Google alsoplans to set up new Google Cloud Regions in Singapore,Australia, the U.S., U.K., Brazil, Finland and Germany,according to the report.
