Country Garden Holdings Co. Ltd. halted construction works in all of its projects in China after an accident that killed six people and injured 12 others was reported at a development site it owns in Lu'an City, Anhui Province, according to Caixin Global.
The developer, China's largest by sales, said through its official WeChat account July 27 that work will be suspended immediately so that it can "thoroughly" inspect and address potential safety hazards at its projects, including those at temporary dormitories built at work sites, the report added.
It is expected that hundreds of developments across 20 provinces in China will be affected by the suspension that can only be lifted by a newly established inspection team, the publication reported July 28.
