Sprint brings Spanish-language streaming service for subs

Sprint Corp. struck a deal to offer PANTAYA, a premium streaming service for Spanish-language films, to its customers.

The $5.99 monthly subscription service features a selection of Spanish-language movies from Latin America and Hollywood. Subscribers will also get exclusive and first-run access to all Spanish-language releases from Pantelion Films, a joint venture between Lions Gate Entertainment Corp. and Televisa, and a selection of films that will be available for streaming the same day they premiere in Latin America, the carrier said Oct. 10.

PANTAYA is accessible through the web and on Apple Inc.'s iOS and Apple TV, Google Inc.'s Android, Roku Inc. devices, and Samsung Smart TVs in the U.S. and Puerto Rico, as well as to Prime members on Inc.'s Amazon Channels in the U.S. Sprint will offer an exclusive 45-day trial to customers.

PANTAYA is a joint venture between Lions Gate and Hemisphere Media Group Inc.
