Sumitomo Mitsui Banking sets up global notes program

Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corp. filed an offering circular for a global medium-term notes program of up to US$50 billion.

Proceeds from any notes issued under the program will be used for general corporate purposes, the group said.

SMBC Nikko Capital Markets Ltd. is serving as the arranger for the program. Barclays, Citigroup, Goldman Sachs & Co. LLC, Nomura, Bank of America Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank Securities, JP Morgan and SMBC Nikko Capital Markets are acting as dealers.
