Hargreaves Lansdown names nonexecutive chair

Hargreaves Lansdown Plc named Deanna Oppenheimer nonexecutive chair of the board of directors and chair of the nomination committee, effective Feb. 7, as well as director, effective immediately.

Oppenheimer, whose current roles include serving as nonexecutive director of AXA, replaces Mike Evans, who will retire from his role as nonexecutive chairman, effective Feb. 7.

The company noted that Oppenheimer will cease two of her roles by mid-2018, with the relevant announcements to be made "at the appropriate time."

Meanwhile, Chris Barling will leave his posts as nonexecutive director and senior independent nonexecutive director, also effective Feb. 7. Barling will be succeeded by Shirley Garrood as senior independent nonexecutive director on the same date.
