Taiho Kogyo Co. Ltd. said its normalized net income for the fiscal second quarter ended Sept. 30 came to ¥23.65 per share, a gain of 8.6% from ¥21.78 per share in the prior-year period.
Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was ¥677.9 million, a gain of 9.2% from ¥620.9 million in the prior-year period.
The normalized profit margin rose to 2.7% from 2.7% in the year-earlier period.
Total revenue increased 7.6% on an annual basis to ¥24.86 billion from ¥23.11 billion, and total operating expenses climbed 7.5% year over year to ¥23.77 billion from ¥22.11 billion.
Reported net income increased on an annual basis to ¥623.6 million, or ¥21.76 per share, from ¥614.2 million, or ¥21.55 per share.
