PowerSouth Energy Cooperative has issued a request for proposals seeking information and proposed pricing for 25 MW to 80 MW of delivered solar energy and associated environmental attributes.
The projects will be evaluated based on value economic analysis, cost of delivery, creditworthiness, relevant experience, and other criteria. Selected projects will be offered a power purchase agreement for a period between 10 and 25 years, PowerSouth said in the Oct. 8 request for proposals.
PowerSouth is a generation and transmission cooperative that supplies wholesale power to its member-owners, which are located in Alabama and Florida.
The projects should be operational by Oct. 31, 2022. The respondents are not required to submit a formal interconnection application to be considered, however, but the proposed facilities should have a point of delivery into the PowerSouth or Southern Co. transmission system.
Respondents can submit their proposals to rfp@powersouth.com by Nov. 16.
