Hyundai Wia Q3 profit climbs YOY

HYUNDAI WIA Corp. said its normalized net income for the third quarter was 3,375.62 South Korean won per share, compared with the S&P Capital IQ consensus estimate of 3,319.27 won per share.

EPS climbed year over year from 3,338.49 won.

Normalized net income, which excludes unusual gains or losses on a pre- and after-tax basis, was 89.66 billion won, a gain from 85.89 billion won in the prior-year period.

The normalized profit margin rose to 4.9% from 4.9% in the year-earlier period.

Total revenue rose year over year to 1.815 trillion won from 1.768 trillion won, and total operating expenses increased year over year to 1.704 trillion won from 1.645 trillion won.

Reported net income fell 8.1% from the prior-year period to 97.23 billion won, or 3,660.70 won per share, from 105.84 billion won, or 4,114.00 won per share.

As of Nov. 16, US$1 was equivalent to 1,172.80 South Korean won.
